Safari

Safari:

The main reason why people buy laptops is so they can go online. Apple's version of Internet Explorer from PC is Safari. Safari is a browsing application that works quite fast and is very sufficient.

Reading List:

When coming across something you find interesting on the internet, you can quickly save the website into reading list. With iCloud, you can keep track of all of the website you have saved in reading list on all Apple devices. The reading list allows you to browse through some of your favourite websites quickly.

Multi-Touch Gestures:

There are many touch gestures you can use on the trackpad that can be used to navigate around Safari. The following are just a couple of examples of some multi-touch gestures:

1) SWIPE TO NAVIGATE
- With this touch gesture, you can swipe between safari tabs and go back in your history in the Safari window.

2) TAP TO ZOOM
- By double taping the same place on the track pad, you can zoom in on the screen of a Safari window. You can double tap the same spot a second time and the screen will go back to its original view.

3) PINCH TO ZOOM
- By using this action, you can zoom in and out more precisely that the tap to zoom. By swiping your fingers out, you will zoom in on the safari window. If you swipe your fingers in, you will zoom out the safari window. The Safari window will turn back to normal

4) TWO-FINGER SCROLL
- For this action you just put two fingers on the track pad. Swipe up to scroll up and                              swipe down to scroll down. It is a very simple action and the most commonly used one on safari.

Full Screen Browsing:

With this new feature, you can enlarge Safari so that it takes up your whole screen space. It will hide out your dock and top bar. You can only see these two features if you minimize the Safari screen to its original size.  This new feature allows you to browse through Safari with larger images and writing, making it easier for you to browse through.

OS X Mountain Lion

It has been recently announced by Apple that the OS X Mountain Lion is coming out in the summer. It is an upgrade from Lion OS X. To find out information about Lion OS X, visit my first blog entry from 2011.

Reminders: originally, reminders only came on the iPhone, but now with OSX Mountain Lion, it has included reminders on its system. With iCloud, your reminders will be recorded on every Apple device you own. You can set due dates and you can get alerts for deadlines. There is also a search box field in the reminders application that allows you to find any reminder very quickly.

Notification centre: something new is the notification centre, which has not been used on any Apple device before. Notification centre will inform you if you have an email, instant message, friend request, a calendar alert and more. Notification allows you to keep up with everything that is going on. The notification centres pops up quickly on the right side of the screen and then disappears so it won't bother you too much.

Game centre: again, an application from the iPhone has been used in the new Apple processing system. Not only can you play on the game centre, but you can play with other people on other Apple devices. For example, you can be playing on the game centre on your laptop whilst playing with someone else who is on an iPod touch. This means that no matter what Apple device you are using, you can play game centre whenever you want.

Sharing: A new button on safari called 'share' allows you to spread the word about links, photos or videos you enjoy. This is the new, easier way to share links that you are interested in.

Apple Accessories

The following are accessories that can be used for Apple products:

These earbuds come with all the iPods and the iPhone. With these headphones you can pause, play, rewind or speed up music or video's without using the actual Apple device. For example, if you are listening to music on your iPod, you can pause the music without physically touching the iPod. The picture in the right hand corner is the small control used to pause, play, rewind or speedup music and video's. The '+' and '-' are used to raise or lower the volume.

The dock is an Apple accessory that can charge and sync Apple devices. For example, you can connect your iPod to your stereo so you can share your music. The control in the picture to the right can be used to control the music, just like the control above. However, this control is different because it can be used for all Apple devices, including the Apple TV and laptops. This control is also very small and sleek, making it convenient to store.

The majority of Apple products offer protection for any damage done to any Apple products, but they also provide protective cases. All of their cases come in every possible colour, patterns, textures and materials. Not only do the cases look nice on the Apple products, but they provide protection as well.
